OUR INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Master’s-Level Interns (Unpaid)

  • Who Can Apply: Students enrolled in an accredited graduate program in mental health (e.g., MFT, Counseling, Social Work) who need to complete practicum or internship hours.

  • Compensation: Unpaid, but includes academic credit and supervision hours required for graduation.

  • Supervision: Interns must collaborate with their academic institution and an external clinical supervisor for oversight.

    • Interns are trained to support clients from diverse backgrounds, including BIPoC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities, with compassion and cultural humility.

    • Clients benefit from a collaborative approach, where interns receive guidance and feedback during weekly case staffing meetings to ensure thoughtful, tailored care.

    • Our program equips interns with skills to provide compassionate, effective therapy, helping them grow into exceptional clinicians.

Pre-Licensed Therapists (Paid)

  • Who Can Apply: Individuals who have completed a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited university or college. Applicants must be actively working toward full licensure (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in Georgia, either by holding an associate license (LAMFT, LAPC, LMSW) or accruing required hours toward licensure.

  • Supervision: Therapists must contract with their own external supervisor approved by the Georgia Composite Board.

  • Absolutely! Interns at M.Y. Wellness LLC are carefully selected, highly trained, and supported by licensed professionals. Every client’s care plan is discussed during weekly case staffing meetings to ensure the highest quality of treatment.

  • Yes. Master’s-level interns are in the final stages of their training and have completed coursework in therapeutic approaches, ethics, and client care. Pre-licensed therapists hold Master’s degrees and are actively working toward licensure under external supervision.

  • No, we are a private pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service, and we can provide superbills for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider.

  • Interns bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to the therapeutic process. With the support of experienced professionals, they provide thoughtful, individualized care informed by the latest research and techniques.

  • This program is part of our mission to expand access to culturally affirming mental health care while supporting the next generation of therapists. By investing in their growth, we ensure that more communities benefit from compassionate, quality care.
